The Sabra n Shatila incidents took place on 16 September 1982, committed by the Lebanon militia, the Phalangists, but backed by the Israel Defense Force (IDF) had massacred a large numbers of unarmed Palestinian refugee. Actual numbers were unknown, but it was estimated between 328 to 3,500 Palestinians had perished in the massacre.
