Law N Lawlessness

srizals@gmail.com

Can you recall the days when you were in schools? Specifically in the classroom? If one ever experienced being a candle in the wind, as they compared the noblest profession in the world, here in the lands of the Malay, one would understand the importance of law n order.

In the lands of the Malay, the average classes consist of 35 to 45 students. Yes, believe it or not, these are the average numbers for the average schools here. Now, put yourself in a teacher's shoes. In 30 to 60 minutes, you have to deliver new knowledge to your students while at the same time, trying to control the class clown, that is always hunger of attraction n adornment of the opposite sex. Some are completely isolated from the real world and care less of what's happening around them. Then, you have to make sure they totally understand you, despite the facts, each one of them are unique and have different levels of intellectuality and backgrounds. After that, you have to check almost all of them, one at a time of course, to make sure they are doing what they are supposed to be doing and nothing more.

And then walla! You're time is up. You packed your things and leave in a hurry to the next class and do all the same thing again for another set of students that is not always the same with the previous class.

Now, if you still are not sure of what am I trying to highlight here, let me tell you this. The teacher must always focus and control the classroom in each minute that is passing in his or her lessons. He can't afford to let things take its own course and continue teaching in a hectic environment. Now don't compare this to a war zone, you know what I mean. You were in these classes before, if not all the time.

In order to ensure a smooth teaching and learning process to take place, law and order must exist first, only then things sort themselves out. Only then a teacher can let go and let God.

If law and order are so crucial in a classroom, why not in our real life and the world that we lived in? Can we say that all things that happened in the galaxy, in our solar system and the time of creation are or were all without a composer or a ruler that defines what should happen first and things that follow suit. Is it logical and even comprehensible to say such a thing? That everything worked itself out without any guidance and rules? Try it on your kids if you don't believe me. Without rules of governance, everything would end up in anarchy and automatically initiated its self destruct mode, like what we have seen throughout history. Shakira said hips don't lie, I say, history don't lie. No one can change them. Why? Because it is in the past, that's why. And it will always haunt the haters n liars, no matter what year they are living in. Alhamdulillah.
