Basically srizals I agree with your sentement, there is nothing to stop people writing nice things about muslims (is it muslims or moslems, I never know they both seem to be used just as much in different places) or about christians or any other faith or lack thereof.

But you can also write bad things about the same people, the reason for it is that religion does not make you a good person and does not set the morals you live your life by (regardless of what some religious people seem to think since people like me who lack religion in any guise are seen to be baby eating murderers).

But unfortunately what you find is that the west being mainly of christian faith (when people have faith that is, there are a lot of atheists and one of the fastest growing groups these days I am led to believe) then what sets them apart from the muslim people is their faith and so muslims are generally portrayed in a bad light. If there were no religions there would be a lot less reason to segregate yourselves from each other and cause friction, I'm sure a lot of men would still find a way and something to create tension and division but religion is a massive source of the division in the world today and has been for thousands of years.
